It’s been a long, winding road for McCartney impersonator

When Tony Kishman was in his 20s, singing in a Top 40 cover band, he added a Paul McCartney song called Beware My Love to the band’s repertoire.
The Arizona native didn’t think much of it when people started saying he looked like the sweet-faced McCartney when he performed it. Continue reading

Kishman kills in McCartney tribute show

Songs from the Beatles catalog, like “Hello Goodbye,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “When I’m 64” and “Get Back” were done well enough and so, too, were McCartney’s post-Beatles classics “Jet” and “Silly Love Songs.” “Bluebird,” one of the lesser-known tunes from the “Band on the Run” sessions, was a welcome surprise entry in the set list. Tony Kishman with the Omaha Symphony

Actor, singer, and recording artist, Tony Kishman starred for six years in both the national and international tours of Broadway’s smash hit, “Beatlemania.” Believe it or not, he looks exactly like Paul McCartney looked when we first remembered hearing “I love you, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.” The band and backup singers were absolutely unbelievable. And, with the current exorbitant prices to see Sir Paul live, this is the chance to hear his music live without having to sell a kidney for tickets! Continue reading

Band pays symphonic tribute to former Beatle

In the mid-1970s, Tony Kishman was a singer for a Top 40 band in his native Tucson, Ariz. Though Paul McCartney’s solo career was in full swing, Kishman only ever performed one McCartney song, and that work — “Beware My Love” — wasn’t even one of the former Beatle’s hits. Continue reading
